2022 STFX X-Men Soccer News

Atlantic University Sport released the 2023 fall sports schedules today, including women’s rugby, men’s football, men’s and women’s soccer as well as men’s and women’s cross country. Hosts for the 2023 fall championships were also confirmed.

StFX defender Lewis Dye was honoured as a U SPORTS first team all-Canadian, while Logan Rieck was named a second team all-Canadian and Samuel Barrowcliffe an all-rookie.

U SPORTS announced the seedings and bracket for the 2022 U SPORTS Men’s Soccer Championship presented by RBC, to be hosted by Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, B.C. The tournament gets underway on Thursday, Nov. 10 and concludes the following Sunday, Nov. 13.

Three X-Men Soccer athletes were named AUS first team all-stars, including Lewis Dye, Logan Rieck and Kyle Cordeiro, while Oliver Storseth received the AUS community service award.

The schedules for the 2022 Subway AUS Soccer Championships have been released. The X-Women will play Saint Mary's in the 3:00 pm quarterfinal on Wednesday, while the X-Men received a bye into the semifinals. They will play the winner of the DAL-UNB game on Thursday at 3:00 pm.

The STFX X-Men closed out AUS regular season play with an exciting 1-0 victory over the UNB Reds Friday night at STFX Stadium.

The STFX X-Men and Moncton Aigles Bleus tied 2-2 in AUS action Thursday night at STFX Stadium.
Mohammed Jaber (Halifax, NS) scored two second half goals as the Dalhousie Tigers defeated the U SPORTS No. 10 ranked STFX X-Men 3-2 Friday evening in AUS action at STFX Stadium.

The U SPORTS #10 ranked STFX X-Men are heading back to the AUS playoffs after defeating the Saint Mary’s Huskies 3-1 on Wednesday night at Huskies Stadium.

Oliver Storseth has made countless memories during his time as a volunteer with Eastern Highlands Special Olympics. When the STFX X-Men varsity soccer player decided he wanted not only to create more, but also share them with other White and Blue student-athletes, he came up with the idea for the recently launched Unified at X initiative.
In a hotly contested match, the U SPORTS No. 2 ranked Cape Breton Capers defeated the No. 9 ranked STFX X-Men 3-2 Friday evening at STFX Stadium.

The U SPORTS second-ranked CBU Capers (5-0-2) and the STFX X-Men (5-1-1) played to a 1-1 tie in Atlantic University Sport (AUS) soccer action on Monday afternoon at Ness Timmons Field.

The U SPORTS No. 6 ranked STFX X-Men defeated the Memorial Sea-Hawks 3-1 on Sunday afternoon at King George V stadium in Atlantic University Sport (AUS) men’s soccer action.

The U SPORTS No. 6 ranked X-Men fell 2-1 to the Memorial Sea-Hawks Saturday afternoon in AUS action.

Three STFX teams are ranked in the U SPORTS Top Ten rankings released on September 20, 2022 including X-Men Football (No. 7), X-Women Rugby (No. 10) and X-Men Soccer (No. 9).
