Five outstanding student-athletes of the 2023-24 X-Women Rugby team received the nod this past academic term as winners of X-Women Rugby Leadership Awards.

STFX X-Women lock Akwaima Akpan was honoured as the U SPORTS women's rugby rookie of the year, as well as being named a U SPORTS second team all-Canadian.

STFX lock Akwaima Akpan was named the 2023 AUS Rookie of the Year, while centre Katherine Culligan received the AUS Community Service award. Five X-Women were named to the AUS all-star team including Emma MacDougall, Akwaima Akpan, Sophie Beck, Skye Koyote and Katie Murphy.

The STFX X-Women will host the Acadia Axewomen Thursday evening, October 19th at 7:30 pm in the AUS semifinal playoff game.
In a stunning comeback, the UPEI Panthers put a damper on STFX Homecoming weekend by defeating the STFX X-Women 25-22 in the final game of the AUS regular season Friday night at STFX Stadium.

The St. Francis Xavier X-Women defeated the Saint Mary's Huskies 48-7 in AUS rugby action on Friday night at Huskies Stadium in Halifax.
In a battle of AUS women’s rugby powerhouses on a sunny Sunday afternoon in front of over 300 fans, the U SPORTS No. 6 ranked STFX X-Women and the Acadia Axewomen played to a 33-33 tie.

Two tries in the last 20 minutes gave them a shot, but the Acadia Axewomen (0-2) were unable to complete the comeback as the STFX X-Women (2-0) held on for a narrow 21-19 victory on Sunday night.

For two decades, as much as the leaves changing colours on the trees lining the STFX campus, a sure sign that fall was arriving came courtesy of the X-Women rugby program. In late October or early November – without fail – the White and Blue would be boarding a plane for a Canadian destination, where they would play for a USPORTS Women’s Rugby Championship.

The STFX X-Women Rugby team headed south of the border this past weekend and played four pre-season exhibition matches against NCAA opponents. The blue and white posted a 3-0-1 record.
