UBC still atop women's soccer ranking, Cape Breton enters the U SPORTS Top 10

The UBC Thunderbirds continue to soar atop the U SPORTS women's soccer top 10 after a pair of wins last weekend in Canada West action against Manitoba Bisons and Winnipeg Wesmen.

Thunderbird forward Rebecca Morgan solidified UBC's five game winning streak two minutes into stoppage time after receiving a skillful behind-the-back pass from second year midfielder Ella Sunde and sent the ball flying into the Manitoba net to win the game 2-1. Less than 24 hours later veteran forward Danielle Steer led the 5-0 victory against Winnipeg with two goals and an assist.

No. 2 Trinity Western Spartans and No. 3 Montreal Carabins maintain their rankings meanwhile No. 4 Laval Rouge et Or and No. 5 Ottawa Gee-Gees switch rankings.

Cape Breton jumps York in men's soccer Top 10

The Cape Breton Capers are the new team to beat in men's soccer. The Capers claimed the No.1 spot after sweeping the Memorial Sea-Hawks back-to-back at King George V Park in St. John's this past weekend.

No.3 Carleton Ravens and No. 5 Guelph Gryphons remain unchanged, but No. 2 York Lions gear up to face the Gryphons this Friday and Sunday for an OUA show out.

For the first time in Mount Royal men's soccer history, the No.4 Cougars defeated UBC 1-0 forcing the Thunderbirds out of the Top 10 followed by a clean sheet against Trinity Western on Sunday and bumping the Montreal Carabins to No. 7 after a 2-1 loss to UQAM.

No. 8 Laval Rouge et Or is displaced as the Ontario Tech Ridgebacks slammed through the rankings to land at No. 6, a five-position jump, following a 2-1 defeat of No. 10 TMU Bold. Similarly, No. 9 StFX X-Men join the ranks after a 4-1 striking spree against Mount Allison and a 3-0 Panthers shutout.
