2014-15 StFX Cross Country Headlines

The StFX X-Men ran to a ninth place showing at the CIS championship Sunday afternoon at Pippy Park in St. John’s, Nfld as Memorial University hosted the national event.

The X-Men cross country team dipped two positions in the CIS top ten rankings released today and now sit in the No. 9 spot.

The StFX X-Women placed third overall in the team standings at the Subway AUS cross country championship Saturday afternoon at Point Pleasant Park, hosted by Saint Mary’s University.

The StFX X-Men claimed their third consecutive team in AUS competition this season with a first place finish at the Moncton Invitational on Saturday.

The StFX X-Men won their second consecutive AUS meet of the season, claiming top spot at the UNB/St. Thomas Invitational on Saturday afternoon in Odell Park. They previously won the Acadia Invitational last weekend in Wolfville, NS.

Second year X-Women runner Liz MacDonald from Bedford, NS was the overall race winner Saturday afternoon in Odell Park at the UNB/St. Thomas Invitational. MacDonald finished the 6k course in a time of 22:48 as the X-Women placed third overall in the team standings.

X-Men cross country runner Lee Wesselius was honored as the Subway AUS Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 14, 2014.

The X-Women and X-Men cross county teams opened their AUS season today in Wolfville at the Acadia Invitational. The X-Women placed third overall while the X-Men took top spot, claiming first place.

X-Men cross country runner Scott Donald is the latest athlete featured in our Getting to Know your X-Women and X-Men series throughout the summer. Scott recently completed his second year with the X-Men and is a Human Kinetics student from Ottawa, Ont.
