MacDonald wins UNB/STU Invitational race

Fredericton, NB – Second year X-Women runner Liz MacDonald from Bedford, NS was the overall race winner Saturday afternoon in Odell Park at the UNB/St. Thomas Invitational. MacDonald finished the 6k course in a time of 22:48 as the X-Women placed third overall in the team standings.

UNB garnered top spot with 33 points, followed by Dalhousie with 43 and StFX with 53. Rounding out the team standings were Acadia (114), Saint Mary's (122), Moncton (159) and St. Thomas (219).

Joining MacDonald in the top ten were Leah Gouthro in second place with a time of 23:03.

Kendra MacNeil (24:23) placed 12th overall for the X-Women and Alyson Woods (25:07) was 18th. Also competing for the blue and white in Fredericton amongst the field of 67 runners was Heidi MacDonald (25:18) in 20th, Ginny Anderson (25:28) in 22nd and Maura Gillis (26:00) in 27th.
