2019 StFX Cross Country News

Atlantic University Sport released the 2020 fall sports schedules today, including women’s rugby, men’s football, men’s and women’s soccer as well as men’s and women’s cross country. Hosts for the 2020 fall championships were also confirmed.

The StFX X-Women and X-Men cross country teams competed at the U SPORTS national championship Saturday at Fort Henry, hosted by Queen’s University. The X-Women placed 18th overall while the X-Men came in 16th position.

Paul MacLellan of the StFX X-Men and Caitlin Vail from the Victoria Vikes were recognized as the U SPORTS Cross Country Student-Athlete Community Service Award winners on Friday morning.

The StFX X-Women raced to a silver medal performance at the Subway AUS Championship race on Saturday afternoon.

The StFX X-Men raced to a second place finish at the Subway AUS cross country championship Saturday afternoon.

StFX runners competed on a wet day in PEI on Saturday afternoon at the UPEI Invitational.

At the interlock meet in Montreal hosted by UQAM on Saturday afternoon the StFX X-Women placed seventh overall amongst 14 teams, and the StFX X-Men came in third spot overall amidst 15 squads.

The StFX X-Women and X-Men swept both men’s and women’s team results and individual results in the Atlantic University Sports’ second cross country meet of the season.

Over 115 runners took to the trails on the campus of St. Francis Xavier University Saturday afternoon at the StFX Cross Country Invitational in the first competitive meet of the AUS season.
