WOLFVILLE, NS – The U SPORTS No. 7 ranked STFX X-Women (7-0-0) topped the No. 8 Acadia Axewomen (4-2-1) by a 1-0 margin on Sunday to stay atop the AUS standings and remain undefeated.
Lauren Reid scored the lone goal of the match for STFX in the 25th minute of the match, with an assist going to Amanda Smith.
Milena Ramirez made six saves in the loss for Acadia, while Christina Gentile made six saves in the clean sheet victory, her second of the season.
Both teams next play on Friday, Sept. 29. STFX hosts Mount Allison (0-5-1), while Acadia hosts Dalhousie (2-3-1). Kick-off for both matches is 5 p.m.
