X-Women Soccer forward Amanda Smith was named the STFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sept. 10, 2023. Amanda, a second year Education student (5th year eligibility) from Ottawa, ON scored four goals in two X-Women wins this weekend, helping them to improve to 4-0 atop the AUS standings. In Saturday’s 3-1 win over Cape Breton, she was named Player of the Game as she scored the first goal of the match in the 47th minute and followed up with a PK goal in the 51st minute. In Sunday’s 6-0 win over Saint Mary’s, Amanda scored STFX’s 1st and 4th goals of the match. With 7 total goals on the season, she currently leads the AUS in scoring and moved into 8th spot on the AUS career goal scoring list with 35. She also remains the STFX all-time career leading scorer.
