David Muenkat, X-Men Basketball

X-Men Basketball forward David Muenkat was named STFX Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Feb. 26, 2023. David, a third year Arts student from Brampton, ON was named the tournament MVP with two big double-double games as the X-Men won the AUS championship banner. In their 94-68 semi-final win over CBU, David scored 21 points and had 14 rebounds. He followed up with 15 points and 10 rebounds in the championship game with a decisive 104-54 win over UPEI. David was player of the game in the final and was also named to the tournament all-star team. Earlier in the week he was recognized as an AUS first team all-star and won the AUS defensive player of the year award.
