A defender with the X-Men from 2004-2009 and a three-time Academic All Canadian, Coach Dort joined the StFX Soccer staff as an assistant coach with the X-Men in 2022. In 2023 he expanded his role to assist with the X-Women. Coach Dort primarily focuses on the out of possession phase for both teams and assists in scouting and recruiting for the X-Men. A level-headed tactician with a reputation as a relationship builder, Coach Dort is an integral member of the coaching staff.

A native of Guysborough, Nova Scotia, Coach Dort completed multiple degrees during his time at StFX: a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics (2008), a Bachelor of Education (2010), and a Master of Education (2019). Since 2010 Dort has been a high school mathematics teacher and a highly successful basketball and club soccer coach. When he is not teaching or coaching, you can often find Coach Dort on the golf course.

Brandon and his wife, Jenny MacDonald, reside in Pomquet, Antigonish County.
