FC London striker Logan Rieck commits to StFX University

ANTIGONISH, NS - StFX X-Men soccer coach Graham Kennedy is pleased to announce the signing of Logan Rieck to a U SPORTS letter of intent for the 2020-21 season.

Rieck is a 5'11" striker out of Huron Heights Secondary School in Kitchener, Ont., who plays club soccer for FC London of League1 Ontario.

Coach Kennedy is thrilled to bring Rieck into the X-Men family, commenting, "Logan brings a physical presence that we've been missing in our attack, and he is AUS ready as a freshman. He comes highly recommended and I am looking forward to working with him."

"Logan is a top talent," says FC London head coach Mike Marcoccia. "He has spent the last two years as one of the youngest players on our League1 team and has exceeded our expectations. His physical maturity allows him to consistently compete with, and against, the top university and semi-pro players who are five to six years older. I am confident he can score important goals in the AUS, even as a rookie."

Former X-Men soccer captain, Randy Ribiero (2016) plays with Riech at FC London and recommends Rieck highly. "Logan is a super young player who will excel at StFX," notes Ribeiro. "The players will love playing with him because he works his socks off and is highly coachable."

In addition to representing Huron Heights HS, Rieck also played for Academy Garrincha and Ginga Soccer Academy under coach Keven De Serpa. At U15, Rieck was a Team Ontario player and member of the CSA national youth team pool. In 2017 he travelled overseas with the CAF Canadian Selects to Rome under coach Dwayne DeRosario.

Rieck is enrolled in the Human Kinetics degree program and will join the X-Men program in August.
