1993 CIAU National Champions

The 1993 X-Men basketball team under the direction of head coach Steve Konchalski captured the first ever national CIAU championship in the sport of basketball for StFX. With a regular season record of 12-8 and narrowly grabbing the final AUAA playoff spot, the X-Men went on to win the AUAA conference title over Saint Mary’s and qualify for the national tournament.

With a 3-0 record at nationals, the X-Men captured their first CIAU championship banner with a 72-64 win over McMaster in the final game. Team members of the celebrated team include: Richard Bella, Sean Clarke, Mike Clarke, Mark Corrigan, Jason Hirtle, Brian Lee, Guy Mbongo, Sean McLean, Aristide Nguilibet, Joe Odhiambo, Merrick Palmer, Blair White, Manager Kyle Walsh, Trainer Dave Gordon, Assistant Coach Todd McKillop and Head Coach Steve Konchalski.
