Charlie Spurr, Will Silver and Christian Upshaw walked off the floor for the last time
Saturday afternoon at the Oland Centre as members of the X-Men. With the other three
injured seniors - Dwayne Johnson, Chad Warren and Alberto Rodriguez - watching, the
X-Men cruised to a 107-73 victory over the UPEI Panthers.

There was never a time where the X-Men looked like they were going to give anything
up to the Panthers as they jumped out to a quick 23-11 lead after the first quarter. The
energy from the X-Men was outstanding coming off a slow start to Friday's game
against the UNB Varsity Reds.

The X-Men held the Panthers to 34 percent shooting in the first half, and 38 percent
shooting for the entire game.

Christian Upshaw lead the way in the scoring department for the X-Men with 24 points,
while Jeremy Dunn added 23, and Charlie Spurr 15.

Freshman forward Terry Thomas had another double-double for the blue and white
finishing with 12 points and 11 rebounds, while fifth-year senior Will Silver finished with
a game high 13 assists falling four short of the school record in assists.

The Panthers were lead by Terrence Brown and Manoc Lual who both scored 17 points
for the Panthers.

UPEI was knocked out Friday night after the Acadia Axemen won in Newfoundland,
giving them the final spot in the AUS playoff picture.

Up next for the X-Men are the feisty Saint Mary's Huskies. The Huskies finished the
season in the last playoff spot after being jumped by Acadia. In their previous meetings
this season, the Huskies have tested the X-Men to their limits, and after last season's
ousting in the second round, the Huskies are more than hungry to even the score.
Saint Mary's is lead by Joey Haywood, the CIS leading scorer this season averaging
near 30 points a game.

The AUS playoffs take place in Halifax at the Halifax Metro Centre from Friday, March 4
to Sunday, March 6 where the top two teams making it to the finals will advance to the
CIS National Championships.
