X-Men Fall Short to Tigers

The StFX X-Men fell short on Saturday night against the Dalhousie Tigers, losing 90-70.
The CIS No. 7 X-Men had no answer for the Tiger attack of Simon Farine and Joe Schow who finished with 31 and 21 points apiece.
The first quarter the X-Men struggled to score from the field, ending the quarter with a season low seven points. On the opposite side the Tigers had 21 points first quarter points.
The second quarter the X-Men regrouped and scored 23 points while Dalhousie scored 27 points and take a 48-30 lead into halftime.
In the third the X-Men defence stepped up, putting the pressure of Farine and the rest of the Dalhousie guards and cutting the lead to ten points. The 22 point third quarter coupled with a solid defensive performance holding Dalhousie to just 14 points.
The fourth quarter X allowed 28 points and lostgrip on their comeback. For the game the Tigers
shot 55 percent from the field while the X-Men shot 43 percent.
Leading the way in the scoring category for the X-Men were Terry Thomas and Will
Silver with 18 points each while Christian Upshaw had 12 points. Thomas also lead the
X-Men with 10 rebounds.
Despite the loss the X-Men still sit third in the AUS as well as seventh in the country and
have clinched a birth in the AUS playoffs.
X-Men next see action this Saturday as they take on Acadia at home.
