The CIS ranked #4 X-Men basketball team continued their strong play with their fifth consecutive AUS league win Thursday night in Wolfville, defeating the Acadia Axemen 100-75.

The X-Men were led by Tyler Richards who scored a game high 27 points. He also had 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. T-Bear Upshaw scored 17 points and Will Silver had 11. 

\r\n

Peter Leighton led the Axemen with 24 points while Justin Boutilier scored 12.

\r\n

The X-Men held a 44-38 lead at half-time, then outscored the Axemen 25-21 in the third quarter and opened up the game in the fourth to seal the win, their 16th of the season.

\r\n

With a 16-2 record, the X-Men lead the AUS with 42 points, six up on second place Cape Breton. They have two regular season game left, both worth 4 points. On Sunday afternoon at 3:00 they will host the Dalhousie Tigers, while on Thursday night at 7:00 pm the Capers will be in town.
