X-Men basketball chalk up 2 more wins

The CIS #4 ranked X-Men basketball team continued their winning ways with two road wins over the UNB Varsity Reds.

Friday night the X-Men dominated with a 107-68 win over the Varsity Reds in Fredericton. Six X-Men were in double scoring figures including rookie Jeremy Dunn who scored 19 points. Tyler Richards and T-Bear Upshaw scored 15 points a piece and Alberto Rodriguez recorded a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Terrance Taylor and Sean Nickel each contributed 11 points in the win as the X-Men led 53-32 at half-time and 82-51 after three quarters of play. Colton Wilson led the Varsity Reds with 19 points while Michael Anderson scored 13.

\r\n

In the second game of the weekend series, the X-Men earned a 99-74 win on Saturday afternoon. Tyler Richards led the X attack with 23 points and 6 rebounds while T-Bear Upshaw scored 21.

Alberto Rodriguez played another strong game for X, scoring 13 points and adding 5 rebounds. Rookie Will Donkoh scored 12.

\r\n

The Varsity Reds were led by Dustin Anthony who scored 20 points. Michael Anderson contributed 14 and Colton Wilson and Alex DesRoches each scored 13.

\r\n

With the wins, the X-Men improve their record to 15-2 atop the AUS conference. They travel to Wolfville Thursday night to meet the sixth place Axemen (6-11) and will play host to the fourth place Dalhousie Tigers (9-7) Sunday afternoon at 3:00 pm.
