X-Men beat Huskies
The CIS #3 ranked X-Men basketball team remains undefeated after a 76-71 victory over the visiting Saint Mary’s Huskies Wednesday night at the Oland Centre.
\r\nLed by third year point guard, Christian T-Bear Upshaw with 20 points, the X-Men were 48.5% from field goal range and 60% from the free throw line, enough to give the Huskies (3-2) their second loss of the season. Upshaw also added 4 assists, 3 steals and 3 rebounds in the game.
\r\nDwayne Johnson had a double-double night for the X-Men, scoring 14 points and adding 10 rebounds. Tyler Richards scored 13 points and Terrance Taylor had 10 for the blue and white, who held a slim 39-37 lead at half-time.
\r\nIkeobi Uchegbu had a big night for the Huskies, scoring 30 points and posting 10 rebounds. Jack Gallinaugh scored 15 points and Mark McLaughlin had 14.
\r\nWith the win the X-Men remain undefeated with a 5-0 record atop the AUS conference. They will finish off the first term with a game at UPEI (2-4) on Saturday evening.
