Pita Pit X-Men Football Offensive Player of the Week

X-Men running back Malcolm Bussey was named the STFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 29, 2023. Malcolm, a 3rd year Human Kinetics student from Hammonds Plains, NS scored three rushing touchdowns in the X-Men's 40-10 win over SMU Friday night. He had scores from 5, 1 and 53 yards as he averaged 6.9 yards/rush on 23 rushes for 159 total yards in the game. With the yardage, Malcolm broke the 1000-yard milestone this season, leading the AUS conference with 1087 totals yards (158-1038) and rushing touchdowns (8). He also led the conference and was 4th in U SPORTS in rushing average with 129.8 yards/game, was 2nd overall in AUS all-purpose yards (135.9) and 3rd in AUS scoring (48 points). 

Pita Pit X-Men Football Defensive Player of the Week

X-Men defensive back Nathan Cayouette was named the STFX Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 29, 2023. Nathan, a 3rd year Human Kinetics student from Strathmore, AB led all tacklers in the game in STFX's 40-10 win over SMU Friday night. All his tackles were solo tackles and included one tackle for a loss of 5 yards. Nathan finished the season with 30.0 tackles, including 27 solo and 6 assisted, good enough for 13th overall in the AUS conference, as he averaged 3.8 tackles/game.

Pita Pit X-Men Football Special Teams Player of the Week

X-Men kicker/punter Ben Hadley was named the STFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 29, 2023. Ben, a fourth year Business student from Halifax, NS scored 14 points in the X-Men's 40-10 win over SMU Friday, kicking 3 field goals, 4 extra points and 1 rouge. Ben kicked field goals from 18, 25 and 32 yards out, and also had 5 kick-offs in the game for 333 yards, averaging 66.6 yards/kick. He lead the AUS and U SPORTS in FG kicking (83%), total points (123) and field goals (24). His 24 field goals broke the AUS conference record for most field goals in a single season.
