Fagnan, Connors & Hadley receive football athlete of the week honours for second consecutive week

X-Men quarterback Silas Fagnan was named the STFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 8, 2023. Silas, a 5th year Human Kinetics student (3rd year eligibility) from Bonnyville, AB was 17-23 for 350 passing yards in the X-Men's 42-9 win over Acadia Saturday, helping his team improve to 6-0 on the season. Silas threw three touchdown passes from 30, 54 and 44 yards out and also had 4 rushes for 22 yards in the game. He is currently second in AUS passing, averaging 237.0 yards/game (one yard out of first place), and leads the conference in completions and attempts (101-169), total yards (1422) and pass efficiency (143.3).

X-Men linebacker Josh Connors was named the STFX Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 30, 2023. Josh, a fourth year Business student (3rd year eligibility) from Toronto, ON led all defensive players in the game with 8 tackles in the X-Men's 42-9 win over Acadia Saturday. Josh had 6 solo and 4 assisted tackles in the game, including two tackles for a loss of 5 yards, including a sack. Josh currently leads the AUS in tackling and is fifth overall in U SPORTS, averaging 7.0 tackles/game with 42.0 on the season.

X-Men kicker/punter Ben Hadley was named the STFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 8, 2023. Ben, a fourth year Business student from Halifax, NS scored 15 points in the X-Men's 42-9 win over Acadia Saturday, kicking 3 field goals, 4 extra points and 2 rouges. Ben kicked field goals from 11, 35 and 13 yards out, and also had 5 kick-offs in the game for 322 yards, averaging 64.4 yards/kick. He currently leads the AUS in kicking at 83% and also leads the conference in scoring with 93 points on the season, averaging 15.5 points/game for the undefeated 6-0 first place X-Men.
