Pita Pit X-Men Football Offensive Player of the Week

X-Men running back Malcolm Bussey was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 16, 2022. Malcolm, a second year Human Kinetics student from Hammonds Plains, NS scored two touchdowns in the X-Men's 46-11 win over Acadia Saturday. He scored a 42-yard TD in the 1st quarter and a 44-yard TD in the second quarter as he earned player of the game honours. Malcolm had 11 carries for 191 total yards in the game, averaging 17.4 yards/rush, along with one reception for three yards. He continues to lead the AUS this season in rushing (120.2 Y/G) and is also the touchdown leader with seven.

Pita Pit X-Men Football Defensive Player of the Week

X-Men defensive back Liam Wilde was named the StFX Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 16, 2022. Liam, a fifth year Arts student from Calgary, Alta., played a strong role in the X-Men defense in their 46-11 win over Acadia Saturday, improving their record to 6-0. Liam had six solo tackles in the game. He currently has 29.0 on the season, including 25 solo tackles, as he sits 8th overall in conference tackling.

Pita Pit X-Men Football Special Teams Player of the Week

X-Men defensive back Jay Turnsek was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 16, 2022. Jay, a fourth year Science student from North Bay, Ont. provided outstanding protection on punt team and great special teams leadership throughout the day in the X-Men's 46-11 win over Acadia Saturday. Jay had two solo and one assisted tackle in the game, adding to his 11.5 total tackles on the season.
