Pita Pit STFX X-Men Football Offensive Athlete of the Week

X-Men receiver Zach Houde was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 25, 2022. Zach, a first year Climate & Environment science student from Thetford Mines, Que. scored two touchdowns in the X-Men's 26-7 win over Mount Allison Sunday. Both touchdowns came in the third quarter as he connected for passes of 17 and 23 yards, giving the X-Men a decisive 21-0 lead at the time. Zach had 9 catches in the game for 178 total yards, averaging 19.8 yards per reception.

Pita Pit STFX X-Men Football Defensive Athlete of the Week

X-Men defensive lineman Alex Fedchun was named the StFX Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 18, 2022. Alex, a fifth year Human Kinetics student from Calgary, AB continues to put up key defensive plays for the X-Men. In their 26-7 win over Mount A on Sunday, he had a fumble recovery for 69 yards that set up the first field goal of the game. Alex also had 2.5 sacks for a loss of 9 yards, along with 3 solo and 1 assisted tackles. He is fourth overall in AUS tacking with 22.5 on the season.

Pita Pit STFX X-Men Football Special Teams Athlete of the Week

X-Men kicker/punter Ben Hadley was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 25, 2022. Ben, a third year Business student from Halifax, NS kicked two field goals and a pair of extra points, contributing eight points in the X-Men's 26-7 win over Mount A Sunday. He booted field goals from 18 and 33 yards out and had three kick-offs for 191 yards, averaging 63.7 yards per kick. Ben currently leads the AUS conference with an 86% kicking percentage.
