Bussey & Fedchun receive AUS football player of the week honours

Name: Malcolm Bussey

StFX's Malcolm Bussey is the AUS offensive player of the week for the week ending October 31, 2021. 

A first-year arts student from Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia, Bussey scored two rushing touchdowns and had 14 carries for 162 yards, averaging 11.4 yards/rush, in StFX's 46-0 win over the Saint Mary's Huskies on Saturday. He opened the X-Men's scoring in the first quarter from two yards out and added an impressive 59-yard touchdown run in the third quarter. The rookie was named the Subway Player of the Game in the victory, which clinched first-place for the X-Men.

Bussey is currently second in the AUS in rushing, averaging 90.2 yards/game.

Defensive Player of the Week

Position: Defensive Lineman
Hometown: Calgary, Alberta

Academic program: Human Kinetics

StFX's Alex Fedchun is the AUS defensive player of the week for the week ending October 31, 2021. 

A human kinetics student from Calgary, Alberta, Fedchun had four solo tackles in STFX's first-place-clinching 46-0 win over Saint Mary's on Saturday. He also had a sack for a loss of three yards, with two total tackles for a loss of nine yards.

The fourth-year defensive lineman also added a forced fumble and a pass breakup for the X-Men defense. He currently sits seventh overall in AUS tackling with 25.5 on the season, averaging 5.1 tackles/game.

Name: James Parker
University: Mount Allison University
Position: Kicker/Punter
Hometown: Abbotsford, British Columbia
Year of eligibility: Third
Academic program: Bachelor of Arts
Height and weight: 5'10", 170lbs  

Mount Allison's James Parker is the AUS football special teams player of the week for the week ending October 31, 2021.  

A third-year arts student from Abbotsford, British Columbia, Parker was named Subway Player of the Game in the Mounties' 13-8 win over the Acadia Axemen on Saturday. He posted a 40.2-yard average on 11 punts, was two-for-two on field goal attempts with a long of 42 yards, had four kickoffs, averaging 58.8 yards, and converted his lone PAT attempt. Parker also ran for 17 yards and a first down on a fake punt that led to Mount Allison's only touchdown early in the first quarter.

He currently sits second overall points, with 34, and field goals made, with eight.
