Bussey, Fedchun & Ross latest X-Men Football athletes of the week

X-Men running back Malcolm Bussey was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 10, 2021. Malcolm, a first year Arts student from Hammonds Plains, NS led the X-Men offensively on the ground in their 21-19 win over MtA Friday night and received Player of the Game honours. He had 21 carries for 105 yards, averaging 5.0 yards/rush. Malcolm also had two receptions in the game for 20 yards. He is currently 3rd overall in AUS rushing, averaging 81.7 yards/game.

X-Men defensive lineman Alex Fedchun was named the StFX Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 10, 2021. Alex, a fourth year Human Kinetics student from Calgary, AB led the X-Men defense in tackling Friday night in their 21-19 win over MtA with 10.5 tackles, including 7 solo tackles. He also had 3.5 tackles for a loss of 17 total yards, included a shared sack. Alex currently leads the X-Men this season in total tackles with 17.5 and is third overall in the AUS.

X-Men fullback Connor Ross was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 10, 2021. Connor, a fourth year Human Kinetics student from Coldbrook, NS stepped in on short notice and played long snapper on field goal and punt return for most of the game in the X-Men's 21-19 win over MtA Friday. He had two tackles on special teams, and also had the key block on the Mounties onside kick attempt late in the game. Connor also added four receptions for 16 yards on the X-Men offense.
