Bowden, Whyte & Burnham latest X-Men football athletes of the week

McDonald's X-Men Football Offensive Player of the Week
X-Men running back Chase Bowden was named the StFX Football Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 29, 2019. Chase, a first year human Kinetics student from St. Catharine's, Ont. scored the X-Men's lone touchdown in their recent loss to MtA, scoring in the fourth quarter on an 11-yard catch. He had 15 carries for 44 rushing yards in the game, along with the one catch. Chase is currently averaging 37.6 rushing yards per game this season.  

McDonald's X-Men Football Defensive Player of the Week
X-Men linebacker Gordon Whyte was named the StFX Football Defensive Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 29, 2019. Gordon, a fifth year Business student from Toronto, Ont. led the X-Men in tackles in their recent loss to MtA with 9.5 in the game, including 9 solo tackles, including a tackle for a loss of 7 yards. Gordon currently leads the AUS in defense with 38.0 tackles on the season, averaging 7.6 tackles per game. 

McDonald's X-Men Football Special Teams Player of the Week
X-Men kicker/punter Keiran Burnham was named the StFX Football Special Teams Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 29, 2019.  Keiran, a fourth year Arts student (5th year eligibility) from Cambridge, Ont. continued his strong play for the X-Men this season in their recent loss to MtA. Keiran had 8 punts for 373 total yards, averaging 46.6 yards/punt, along with two punts inside the 20. He also kicked one kick-off for 42 yards. Keiran currently leads the AUS in punting average at 43.0 with 1375 total yards.
