John ‘Bunny’ Griffin was an outstanding defensive lineman with the StFX X-Men football team from 1958 to 1961. Bunny started and played in every game throughout his four years as a student-athlete. The X-Men won the Atlantic Bowl championship in each of those seasons and were Eastern Canadian Intermediate champions in 1958. A co-captain and most valuable player with the X-Men in his final year, Bunny was the Atlantic Football Conference  outstanding lineman of the year in both 1960 and 1961 – a remarkable feat at the time as he was the first player to receive this award more than once, and on consecutive occasions.
