One of the top linemen ever to compete on the STFX gridiron, Tony Grassa enjoyed an illustrious five-year career anchoring the X-Men offensive line. The tackle-guard earned well deserved consecutive AUAA all-star and CIAU All-Canadian selections in 1980 and 1981, while collecting the conference lineman of the year award in 1981. Tony’s performance in 1981 also garnered him the J.P. Metras Trophy, which recognizes the top lineman in the country. Despite being below average height for an offensive lineman, Tony’s football techniques and his determination were second to none. He kicked off his white and blue career with a conference championship in 1978 and wrapped it up as the recipient of the MacKinnon Award as the X-Men Football players’ MVP in his senior year.
