With a season record of 17 wins and one loss, this X-Men hoop squad was truly magnificent. On their way to the school’s first Canadian Intermediate Championship in basketball, the X-Men dominated the East coast, winning both the Nova Scotia and Maritime Intercollegiate Championships. Team members included: Captain, Lorne Whalen, Rudy Pace, Joe Flaherty, Pat Conley, Hank Propper, George Kehoe, Rudy Hanusiak, Ernie Friault, Carlos Nelson, Frank Mac-Neil, Bud MacLean, and Dick O’Donnell. The coach was Father Bill Fogarty and the staff for the team were Ron Nugent and Don Brown.
