Allie Sandluck of the STFX X-Women cross country team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport female athlete of the week for the week ending October 30, 2022.

A third-year human kinetics student from Thorburn, Nova Scotia, Sandluck was the individual women's champion at the 2022 Subway AUS Women's Cross Country Championship in Stratford, Prince Edward Island last weekend. She bested the field of 49 runners, finishing the eight-kilometre race with a time of 30:17.

Sandluck led the X-Women to their second consecutive AUS championship title and conference banner as one of the five STFX runners in the top 10. She earned AUS first team all-star status and was named the AUS cross country female athlete of the year.

Sandluck and the X-Women will compete next at the 2022 U SPORTS Cross Country Championships, hosted by Saint Mary's and Dalhousie on November 12 at the Links at Brunello Golf Course.

Andrew Peverill of the Saint Mary's Huskies cross country team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport male athlete of the week for the week ending October 30, 2022.

An MBA student from Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, Peverill raced to his third consecutive individual championship win at the 2022 Subway AUS Men's Cross Country Championship on Saturday in Stratford, Prince Edward Island. His time of 24:37 was more than 18 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.

Peverill was crowned a first-team all-star and AUS cross country male athlete of the year for the third consecutive time, becoming the first AUS male athlete to accomplish that feat since Olympian Paul McCloy did with the Memorial Sea-Hawks in 1984-1986. 

The Huskies will now co-host the 2022 U SPORTS Cross Country Championships with Dalhousie University on November 12 at the Links at Brunello Golf Course.
