Getting to Know...Alyson Woods

X-Women cross country runner Alyson Woods is the latest athlete featured in our Getting to Know your X-Women and X-Men series throughout the summer. Alyson recently completed her first year with the X-Women and is a Human Kinetics student from Halifax, NS.

Nickname: Aly or Aly-Cat

What brought you to StFX? 
I was really interested in the human kinetics program, and I had wanted to run for X for a while. Having a lot of alumni in the family also helped bring me to X!

What has been your best moment in a StFX uniform so far? 
Winning the AUS championship last fall in my hometown, against DAL was very, very rewarding!

One thing I cannot live without is…? 
My phone and music

If I could have super-hero powers I would…? 
I would fly, so I could fly around the world and see if for free

My biggest pet peeve is…? 
When you're stuck behind a slow walker

My dream vacation destination is…? 
Australia/ Greece

My dream job is…? 
To work for the IOC (International Olympic Committee)

Tell us one thing that fans may not know about you?
I used to be really into figure skating, and still have a closet full of sparkly dresses! I also coach skating with the CanSkate program at the Antigonish arena through the year at school
