X-Women rugby fullback Magali Harvey was named the StFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 28, 2012. Magali, a fourth year Business student from Quebec City, was named the AUS tournament MVP as the X-Women claimed their 15th consecutive AUS banner this weekend. In the championship game, Magali was the Subway player of the game, scoring 20 points on 2 tries and 5 conversions in a 72-0 shutout over Acadia. In the X-Women’s 92-3 semifinal win over UPEI, Magali scored 32 points (2 tries and 11 conversions). Named an AUS all-star Friday night for the third consecutive season, Magali led the AUS conference in scoring this season with 145 points (11 tries, 45 conversions).

X-Men cross country runner Connor McGuire was named the StFX Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 28, 2012. Connor, a fourth year science student from Summerside, PEI was the AUS individual champion, claiming the gold medal at Saturday’s 10k race with a time of 32.22. Connor led his X-Men to the AUS championship team title and was named the AUS male athlete of the year. In addition, Connor received the AUS student-athlete community service award. In this 2012 season, he placed 1st in both the Moncton and StFX meets and was 3rd overall in the UNB/STU interlock meet.
