X-Women rugby winger Amanda Thornborough was named the StFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 7, 2012. Amanda, a fifth year Arts student from Brandon, MB., was the player of the game in the X-Women’s 90-0 victory over previously undefeated Acadia this past Thursday evening. Amanda tallied 15 points, scoring three tries en route to the CIS ranked No. 1 X-Women victory. She currently has 45 points on the season and is fourth overall in AUS scoring.  

X-Men cross country runner Riley Johnston was named the StFX Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 7, 2012. Riley, a second year Aquatic Resources student from Pembroke, ON helped lead the X-Men to their third consecutive team victory at the Acadia Invitational this past Saturday. Riley finished the 10k race in a time of 27.30 in second place overall. He was just edged out at the finish line by a Memorial runner, as both posted an identical chip time. Riley was the 2011 AUS rookie of the year.
