McGuire & Hardy named Boston Pizza Athletes of the Week for second consecutive week

StFX Female Athlete of the Week
X-Women cross country runner Melissa Hardy was named the StFX Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 23, 2012 for the second consecutive week. Melissa, a fourth year Human Nutrition (2nd year eligibility), from Deer Lake, Nfld won the StFX Invitational race on her own home course this past weekend. Melissa finished the race in a time of 18:32 and in doing so helped her X-Women take home the first place team title as well, their second team victory in as many weeks. A captain with the X-Women this year, Melissa was a 2011 AUS all-star.

StFX Male Athlete of the Week
X-Men cross country runner Connor McGuire was named the StFX Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 23, 2012 for the second consecutive week. Connor, a 4th year Science student from Summerside, PEI won his second consecutive AUS race this past Saturday, finishing first on his home course at the StFX Invitational meet. Connor ran the 8k race in a time of 26:26 and helped lead the X-Men to a first place team showing, their second victory in as many weeks. Connor is the defending AUS individual champion and is a two-time AUS all-star.
