X-Men run to 2nd place in Moncton

The X-Men cross country team opened up AUS competition on the road this past Saturday in Moncton and ran to a second place finish, tallying 39 points.

Dalhousie was first overall with 34 points, and Moncton claimed third place with 92 points. Saint Mary’s came in fourth with 99 and UNB was fifth with 108.

The top StFX finisher was Connor McGuire in third place. McGuire finished the 8k race at 28:00.80, behind Dan Gorman (27:33.20) of Dalhousie and Jean Marc Doiron (27:42.10) of Moncton.

The next StFX runners to cross the finish line were Ivan Lewis (28:58.30), Julian MacLean (29:08.80) and Aaron Doucette (29:10.60) in seventh through ninth places, respectively. Zach MacDonald was 12th overall, running in at 29:20.00, while Dennis Myumba (29:48.50), Gabe Quenneville (29:55.90) and Stephen Deering (30:06.70) were 16th, 17th and 18th. Rounding out the StFX finishers was Ryan Hawkrigg (30:34.60) in 20th place.  

Next on the schedule for the X-Men is a meet at Point Pleasant Park in Halifax, NS, hosted by the Dalhousie Tigers this Saturday, Sept. 25th.
