X-Men runners successful at Johnny Miles 10k

StFX X-Men cross country runners faired well this past weekend at the annual Johnny Miles race held in New Glasgow, NS.

Four current and two former X-Men runners, all from Nova Scotia, placed in the top seven in the 10k race. 2010 StFX graduates Brent Addison, a Halifax native, and Lee McCarron from Antigonish, NS, placed first and second, respectively. Addison and McCarron both finished the race with a time of 33:11, with Addison edging McCarron at the finish line.

They were followed by three current members of the X-Men squad. Dennis Kayumba (Antigonish, NS) was third at 34:01, followed by teammates Zachary MacDonald (Ardness, NS) and Donald Rasmussen (Antigonish, NS) at 34.03 and 36.04. Stephen Deering (Antigonish, NS) rounded out the X contingent with a 38.34 posting, good enough for seventh spot overall in a race that featured 513 runners.

Also of note, X-Women basketball 2011 graduate Tory Anderson of Antigonish, NS placed third overall and second amongst women in the Johnny Miles 5k race. Her time was 19:23 in a race that featured 357 total runners.
