X-Women cross country 3rd in Maine
The X-Women cross country team ran to a solid third place showing at the Murray Keatinge Invitational meet this past Saturday in Orono, Maine.
\r\nThey were the first Canadian team, finishing with 73 points, behind first place Boston College (23) and the second place hosts from the University of Maine who tallied 60 points. Fellow AUS competitors from Dalhousie finished fourth (103), followed by Holy Cross (122), Robert Morris (187) and the University of New Brunswick (216).
\r\nThe X-Women were led by Monika Preibischova who finished in fifth spot overall, running the 5k race in a time of 17:43.35. Boston College runner Jillian King won the race in a time of 17:09.16.
\r\nThe next X-Woman to cross the finish line was Petra Fouskova in 21st spot with a time of 18:23.46. She was followed closely by teammates Kelly MacDonald in 35th spot (18:31.31), Natalie Kannenberg in 27th (18:36.37) and Bree Bates in 28th place (18:38.55).
\r\nHeather Mosher (18:41.63) was 31st out of the total 96 runners. StFX teammate Erin MacNeil followed in 34th position with a time of 18:47.09. Rounding out the X-Women team of 12 were:
