X-Women runners place second
The X-Women cross country team opened AUS competition this past weekend with a second place showing at the meet held at Point Pleasant Park in Halifax, hosted by Dalhousie University.
\r\nThe X-Women garnered 38 points overall, second to Dalhousie’s 27 points. Acadia was third (93 points), followed by Saint Mary’s (108 points) and UNB (120 points).
\r\nA total of 15 StFX runners took part in the first meet of the season, including nine first year runners. Erin MacNeil was the first X-Woman across the line in fifth place with a time of 19:37. She was closely followed by teammates Natalie Kannenberg (19:43) in sixth and Heather Mosher (19:44) in seventh. Bree Bates (19:54) was ninth overall, rounding out the top ten finishers for StFX.

The defending AUS champion X-Women will next see action at home this Saturday, Sept. 19th when they host the StFX Invitational on the campus of StFX University. The women’s race is slated for 12:00 pm, followed by the men’s race at 12:45 pm.
