X-Women win 4th straight AUS title
The X-Women cross country team ran away with their fourth consecutive AUS banner Saturday afternoon in Moncton at the Subway AUS cross country championship.   

Led, by Gina Stewart (18:59.60) who was the individual race winner and AUS champion, the X-Women had five runners amongst the top ten finishers. Last year's AUS champion Monika Preibischova (19:22.00) came in second place behind her teammate, while Heather Mosher (19:45.90) placed 5th, Kelly MacDonald (20:30.40)was 8th and Holly VanGestel (20:38.20) was 10th overall.

Saint Mary's Kelsey Daley (19:25.60) was the third place finisher while Dalhousie's Caroline Schlosser (19:37.00) was fourth. Rounding out the finishes for the X-Women was AUS Rookie of the Year Madeline MacDonald (20:41.00) in 11th and Bree Bates (21:44.80 0 in 17th.

The X-Women finished with 26 points, ahead of second place Dalhousie (38) and third place Memorial (94). Saint Mary's, Acadia and Moncton finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively. The win marks the fourth consecutive and sixth overall AUS banner in the past eight years for the X-Women.

Gina Stewart was named the AUS Female Runner of the Year and joined teammates Preibischova and Mosher as AUS all-stars. X-Women head coach Bernie Chisholm received AUS Coach of the Year honors.

The ladies join their X-Men teammates who also captured the AUS championship for StFX. Both teams will be travelling to Quebec City for the CIS national championship taking place Nov. 8.
