X-Women 2nd at Invitational

The race for the women's team title at the StFX Invitational meet was very close as the X-Women came second overall with 34 points, one behind first place Dalhousie who earned 33 points on the day. Saint Mary's and Acadia both tied for third with 124 points a piece. Saint Mary's runner Kelsey Daley won the women's individual title in a time of 18:58, while Dalhousie runners Caroline Schlosser (19:19) and Valerie Christie (19:41) placed second and third respectively.

Gina Stewart was the first X-Woman to cross the finish line in fourth place with a time of 19:61 while teammate Heather Moser was right behind her in fifth at 20:05. Defending AUS champion Monika Preibischova from StFX was unable to participate due to an injury.

Former X-Woman Kaitlyn Watters who now wears the Dalhousie colors placed sixth at 20:13, while Kelly MacDonald (20:21) and Helena Fiore (20:23) finished in 7th and 8th place respectively for StFX. Bree Bates rounded out the top ten in 10th spot for the X-Women with a time of 20:39. The remaining X-Women runners placed as follows:

The X runners next see action on Saturday, Sept. 20 when they travel to Fredericton for the UNB Invitational meet.
