X-Women soccer wrap up season in fifth place
The StFX X-Women soccer team wrapped up the AUS season in fifth place as they were handed a 3-0 shutout loss to the Saint Mary’s Huskies in heavy wind and rain at Oland Stadium Sunday afternoon in their final regular season home game.

The X-Women will face the rival fourth place Cape Breton University Capers in AUS soccer quarterfinal action this coming Friday in Fredericton as UNB prepares to host the Subway AUS Championship.

In Sunday’s game, Kascia White opened the scoring for the Huskies at 2:11, with Kelly Burgess adding goals in each half (39, 76th) to seal the victory for the visitors.

Maris Miller made five saves for the X-Women in the StFX net as the home side had six shots on goal.

With the loss, the X-Women close out the regular season in fifth place with a 6-6-1 record for 19 points. The University of New Brunswick will host the conference championship tournament Nov. 4 to 6.
