X-Women soccer striker Olivia Zanette is the latest athlete featured in our Getting to Know your X-Women and X-Men series throughout the summer. Olivia recently completed her third year with the X-Women and is a Human Kinetics student from Thunder Bay, ON.

What brought you to StFX?
I actually didn’t even know what StFX was until I met Trevor Reddick at a soccer tournament. After talking with Trevor I went home and googled StFX and knew it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up.

What has been your best moment in a StFX uniform so far?
My best moment in a StFX uniform so far would have to be winning AUS in my 2nd year in Newfoundland. After playing in a whole weekend of insane winds, rain, snow and freezing temperatures we won the finals against UPEI in a shootout.

What are you most looking forward to this season?
Having a great final season here at X and hopefully winning another AUS banner.

Who has been the most influential person in your life (and why)?
My mom, she’s helped me out a lot. Always been there for me and supported me.

One thing I cannot live without is…?
Bagels…. I live off them.

My dream vacation destination is…?
All over Europe

Tell us one thing that fans may not know about you?
One of my biggest fears is the movie E.T…… little guy creeps me out.
