X-Women fall to Capers

The X-Women soccer team played a single game this past weekend and dropped a 3-0 decision to the Cape Breton Capers in Sydney, NS.

The loss drops them to fourth place in the AUS conference with a 4-3-2 record and 14 points, two points behind the third place Capers.

Cape Breton scored all three of their goals in the second half of the game, the first one coming in the 49th minute from Devon Pierce. Nicholle Morrison followed up with their second marker five minutes later and Alyssa Kavanagh wrapped up the scoring with a goal in the 73rd minute. 

Capers goalkeeper Tiffany O’Donnell held the X-Women scoreless and earned the shutout win, while Anna Thompson took the loss for StFX.

Devon Pierce earned Player of the Game honors for Cape Breton, while striker Olivia Zanette was the Player of the Game for the X-Women.

StFX next sees action on Friday night when they travel to Halifax for a game against the first place Dalhousie Tigers (7-0-2), then will be home on Saturday afternoon to host a rematch against the Capers (5-3-1) at 1:00 pm at Oland Stadium.
