Bio

Mike Cavanagh is in his 26th season at the helm of the rugby X-Women team. A two-time U SPORTS Coach of the Year and 12-time AUS Coach of the Year, Cavanagh brings a wealth of experience, both as a player and coach, leading the X-Women to six U SPORTS national championships (2018, 2016, 2014, 2012, 2010 and 2006) and 22 AUS championships. Cavanagh's X-Women also earned national silver medals in 2011, 2009 and 2008, appearing in the national final in eight of the past 15 seasons. His X-Women are consistently ranked in the U SPORTS Top Ten every week for the past number of years, continuing to be a national contender. 

Cavanagh has played on various teams, including clubs from New Zealand, Ireland, British Columbia and Nova Scotia. On three occasions he has coached against the national teams of Scotland, Wales, and the New Zealand Maori. Mike also coached the Nova Scotia Keltics in the Canadian Super League, and at every age level provincially.
