X-Women Rugby scrum half Maddy Ross is the latest athlete featured in our Getting to Know your X-Women/X-Men series this summer. Maddy is a BScHK student from Coldbrook, NS who recently finished her third year. 

Nickname: MaddyRoss (all one word), Rossy, Mini Ross aka Connor's little sister 

Pregame Routine: Arrive 2 hours before required time, visualize and mentally prep, JAM to some music, crush a gogo squeeze, and then get it going! 

Go-to warm-up song: There is only one right answer: X Gonna Give It To Ya! 

Favourite moment to date as a StFX student-athlete: The 2021 AUS final in the pouring rain. It was the ultimate team win and the best feeling to remain AUS champions on Acadia soil. 

When I'm not studying or playing my sport, I like to: Read books, drink good coffee, hang with my roommates, and go on walks with Father Stan and Kathleen! 

If I could trade lives with anyone for one day, it would be: Blake Lively because she is a QUEEN and is married to Ryan Reynolds 

The next place I want to travel is: Victoria, BC for Rugby Nationals 2022!!! 

My biggest pet peeve is: Being late and people who smack their gum or food – just the worst! 

One thing on my bucket list is: Go on a HUGE family reunion trip to Disney World
