Getting to Know...Mia Huysmans

X-Women rugby flanker Mia Huysmans is the latest athlete featured in our Getting to Know your X-Women and X-Men series throughout the summer. Mia recently completed her third year with the X-Women and is an Arts student from Ponoka, Alta.

Nickname:  I don't really have a set nickname, but my family calls me Mia Mouse

My favorite StFX sporting moment to date is…?    
Beating Acadia last year (2013 season) in the AUS final, it went into double overtime. That was the first rugby game I had ever played in that went into OT, it was the most intense and exhausting game of rugby I have ever played. After we won everyone was covered in mud, it had been raining all weekend, and I just remember crying and laughing because I was so happy we won and so glad the game was finally over!

It is the home to the Ponoka Stampede, it happens every year the week before the Calgary Stampede.
