X-Women win third consecutive game

The CIS ranked No. 6 X-Women picked up their third consecutive AUS victory with a decisive 82-0 shutout over the UPEI Panthers Saturday afternoon in Charlottetown.

After dropping a 44-13 decision to the Acadia Axewomen in their opening league game, the X-Women have stormed back with three straight lopsided shutout wins over AUS opponents.

In Saturday's match StFX second year fly half Sabrina McDaid booted 11 conversions for 22 points, while veteran center Vanessa Duffley scored three tries for 15 points, earning Subway player of the game honors.

The AUS and CIS defending champion X-Women lead 33-0 at halftime over the Panthers who dropped to 1-2 on the season.

Miranda Sample, Beckie Clark and Sara Gandy each scored a pair of tries for StFX, while single tries were scored by Natalie Lesco, Brianna Graham and Angelina MacLellan to round out the afternoon scoring for the blue and white.

The X-Women will again meet the Panthers in their next AUS game, this time at home on Sunday, Sept. 29th at StFX Oland Stadium. Game time is 3:00 pm.
