Magali Harvey of the CIS No. 1-ranked StFX X-Women’s rugby team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 9, 2012.
Magali, a third-year Arts student from Quebec City, Que., in her fourth year eligibility, scored an impressive 39 points in the X-Women’s 101-0 season opening road victory over the Saint Mary’s Huskies on Sunday afternoon in Halifax.
Harvey scored three tries and added 12 converts in the game for the defending AUS champion X-Women.
Her 39 points broke the AUS record for most points scored in a single game (previous mark was 35 by StFX’s Ghislaine Landry – October 8, 2008), and her 12 converts broke her own AUS record for most converts scored in a single game (10) set last year.
Magali is a two-time CIS all-Canadian and former AUS rookie of the year.

Aaron McMurray of the UNB Varsity Reds men’s soccer team is the Subway Atlantic University Sport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending September 9, 2012.
McMurray, a third-year keeper from London, Ont., allowed just one goal in two games this past weekend as the V-Reds opened the 2012 AUS soccer season with a 1-0 win over the Mount Allison Mounties and a 1-1 tie on the road versus the Acadia Axemen.
In Friday night’s shutout win over the visiting Mounties, Aaron turned aside three shots on goal to register the ninth shutout of his university career. In Sunday’s 1-1 tie with the Axemen in Wolfville, he continued his stellar play, turning aside four-of-five shots on goal, including a spectacular diving save.
The V-Reds sit in a three-way tie for second place with four points after the opening weekend of play.
