X-Women rugby handle Brown University 70-0

Sunday afternoon the CIS ranked No.1 X-Women continued their domination south of the border with a decisive 70-0 shutout victory over Brown University in exhibition play. Friday evening the X-Women defeated NCAA defending champion Army 82-5.

Leading the way in scoring for the X-Women in the Brown game were Beth McNeill and Lisa McGrath who each recorded two tries. Single tries were scored by eight different members of the blue and white including Vicki Myddelton, Allison McGlashen, Jayme Ward, Lauren Wilks, Danielle Robb, Katie Archibald, Tyson Beukeboom and Amanda Thornborough.

Emma Taylor and Vanessa Duffley each kicked two converts for StFX while Magali Harvey added one convert to round out the scoring.

The exhibition wins improved the X-Women’s overall season record to 11-1. They are currently 5-0 in AUS regular season play and will wrap up the season this coming Sunday, Oct. 16th when they host Saint Mary’s at 20 pm at StFX Oland Stadium.
