B-Strong legacy continues to inspire
Lindsay Bolger’s legacy and the B-Strong Fund continue to inspire. Lindsay, a StFX alumnus and former X-Women rugby and volleyball athlete, passed away in November, 2009 after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Lindsay established the B-Strong Fund, which has raised over $300K for brain cancer research through the annual B-Strong Bash fundraising event, the sale of B-Strong ball caps and “Lindsay” Bears, and the Ottawa Marathon weekend. The most recent 4th annual B-Strong Bash took place on Friday Oct. 1, 2010 in Markham, ON and raised over $100K.

Sadly, it was the first B-Strong Bash without Lindsay Bolger, the Founder of B-Strong, though a moving tribute was done in her honour. The video tribute, which highlights the incredible kindness and selfless determination to help others that Lindsay exhibited throughout her battle with cancer, may be viewed at the following link: http://www.bstrong.ca/about-lindsay/.

The 5th annual B-Strong Bash will take place on September 30, 2011. Any individuals wishing to make a donation to the B-Strong Fund, purchase a B-Strong cap or a “Lindsay Bear’ or to learn more about Linday Bolger, her story and her B-Strong initiatives are asked to visit the B-Strong website at http://www.bstrong.ca/. Lindsay was an incredible individual, she touched the hearts of all who knew her, and she embodied the Xaverian spirit.
