Rugby X-Women blank Huskies 67-0

The CIS ranked No. 3 X-Women rugby team kept up their dominance of the AUS rugby pitch with a convincing 67-0 victory over the Saint Mary’s Huskies Sunday afternoon in Halifax.

Tyson Beukeboom, Olivia DeMerchant and Amanda Bedard each scored two tries a piece for the X-Women, who held a 44-0 lead at half-time.

Single tried were scored by Asya Bartley, Stephanie Gillis, Alex Munroe, Amanda Thornborough and Magali Harvey. Harvey also kicked two converts and veteran Courtnay Malcolm booted four converts to round out the scoring for StFX.

With a 2-0 record, the X-Women are on the road again this weekend as they travel to UPEI Saturday afternoon to meet the 0-2 Panthers. In two regular season games to date the X-Women outscored their opponents by a 118-0 margin.
