X-Women sharp vs Axewomen
Sep 14, 2008 - The X-Women rugby team once again posted a big score in AUS action this weekend, earning a 72-0 victory in their home opener over the visiting Acadia Axewomen. Led by CIS Player of the Year Ghislaine Landry who had three tries in the game, the X-Women held a 48-0 lead at half-time and spent most of the game in the Axewomen’s half of the field. Courtnay Malcolm scored two tries and had six converts for the blue and white while Kim Armstrong also scored two tries. Jill MacLaren, Brittany Conrad, Amanda Bedard and Lisa Gauthier also hit the score sheet with a try a piece. So far in their two league games the X-Women have yet to allow a point scored against them.
\r\nThey will next see action at home next Sunday, Sept. 13 when they host the Saint Mary’s Huskies at 3:00 pm.
